Construction of our first power plant, the Sumsel-5 coal-fired power plant (PLTU Sumsel-5), began in May 2013, and it commenced operations three years later, in December 2016. Located in Sindang Marga, Bayung Lencir, Musi Banyuasin Regency, PLTU Sumsel-5 contributes to the electricity supply for the South Sumatra region, playing a significant role in reducing rolling blackouts.
Furthermore, the presence of PLTU Sumsel-5 has created numerous job opportunities for the local community, indirectly fostering positive economic growth in the surrounding area. Under the terms of its Power Purchase Agreement, PLTU Sumsel-5 is scheduled to remain in operation until 2041.
As an Independent Power Producer (IPP) that consistently adheres to all applicable regulations across its operational aspects, PLTU Sumsel-5 has demonstrated exceptional performance and earned several prestigious awards. These include the "Zero Accident" award from the Ministry of Manpower in 2019 and the Subroto Award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in 2021. Specifically, we secured 1st place in the "Emission Seller" subcategory for 100–400 MW mine-mouth power plants as part of the Subroto Awards.
